There are 47000 of us in ron paul meetups doing all we can to make this happen off the net -all volunteers all unpaid supporters -this was a fundraising quarter for paul and his support is continuing to grow each day with out him spending any of the money he has raised - so 500,000 in 72 hours from normal everyday citizens and not PACS ,special interest or corporate money shows people are behind him ,are willing to put money behind him ,change their voter registration if necessary to vote in primary and actually show up to vote no matter what your polls state - or what you yourself believe
A letter from ron paul elway-he says it better than me September 27, 2007 Frankly, I'm floored. And very, very grateful. Our $500,000 online fundraising goal for the end of the quarter was reached so fast it took my breath away. But we can't stop now. So I am raising the bar to $1 million by midnight, September 30th. I am so grateful for all you have done. Would you help me with this? Whenever I face a hit piece on tv, or a smear in a newspaper column, I remember my secret weapon: you. In establishment politics, people make campaign contributions because they want something: a contract, a subsidy, a special-interest deal. But the thousands of people who contribute to this campaign want no favors from big government -- which must come at the expense of their fellow citizens, and sometimes our soldiers' lives. They want only what is their God-given, natural, and constitutional right: their freedom.
What a difference from the other campaigns. What a refreshing change from politics as usual. What a sign of the reborn American freedom that can be ours, and our children's, and our grandchildren's. Aggressive wars, income taxes, national IDs, domestic spying, torture regimes, secret prisons, Federal Reserve manipulation -- we don't have to take it any more. And the next step to not taking it is that $1 million goal. Please give www.ronpaul2008.com/donate/ as much as you can, before midnight on Sunday, September 30th. There are two reasons: 1) We need the money. As we move into the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary, then South Carolina, California, Texas, and all the rest, we need your support. We can't duplicate the spending of the big boys, and we don't have to, thanks to the internet and our magnificent army of volunteers.
But we need constant website improvements, phone banks, voter registration and get out the vote efforts, mailings, travel, printings, many small offices, targeted TV and radio ads, legal and accounting help, and 101 other things. And without donors like you, we can't do a darn thing. 2) I want to make the mainstream media sit up and take notice. They did when we beat John McCain for cash-on-hand in the last quarter. This quarter, we can really shock them -- if you help. Our total can show the sort of enthusiasm, organization, and grassroots support that will chill every big-government backer, and warm the heart of every lover of freedom -- and open the eyes of the media
Please, help me win a victory for liberty with your most generous gift. You and I are engaged in an historic enterprise. It is growing in power and influence by the day and by the hour. But it will stutter to a stop without people like you. I need your help. Our cause needs your help. We can make $1 million. We can win this thing.
I am a republican - but I am not in the box -I am very proud to say I think on my own and did my own homework as to which candidate best suited my values -that was ron paul . small govt- great economic plan -low low taxes- no gun control- exit Iraq - fight war on terror differently- prosecute illegal aliens and stronger border control (for terrorists as well)-give states the right to decide on important issues where the majority in wyoming may have a very different opinion as to what their values are as to those in Auburn - he is a true republican -also 70 percent of americans are against the war (I am sure a large part of that group is republican -I have never seen a percentage or a poll taken to show what percentage that is )-I for one think the war on terror has been mismanaged from the start and some changes should be made - and I agree with rons perspective for those changes for the most part - also remember a lot of republicans got burned voting for bush -they may keep their mouth
Ron Paul received more than 10 times as much in donations in the last week of June as he received in the first week of April. looks like he will probably receive more than 5 times as much in donations in the last week of the third quarter as he received the last week of the second quarter. In last week of the second quarter he received $209912.72. will probably receive more than one million in this last week of the third quarter.
The only reason Ron Paul has no chance of winning is because people like you won't support him. It is like the catch twenty two that all third party candidates experience. No one will support you if they think you can't win and no one can win without support. I don't want a evil ***** like Hillary or a lying 9/11 humping asshole like Giuliani to take over where Bush left off.
It is impressive that he can raise that much money in such a small amount of time. But in the entire scheme of things, his 500K won't make a difference to his low national poll numbers. In reply to "Think Richly," seeing and speaking about reality when it comes to Ron Paul doesn't equate to hating him. It just means that there are people who call a duck a duck. It continues to be mystifying to me how Ron Paul supporters think if you state the obvious - that he really has little to no chance at the nomination - then you must hate him and his supporters. It doesn't have anything to do with hating him, it just means some people are more able to be objective about his chances. EDIT: Intimidated by Ron Paul? Now that's cute. No hon, I'm not intimidated. How could someone who has no national support and exists as a candidate solely because of his Internet clan be intimidating? Your response is a great example of exactly what I was saying. The one thing that all Ron Paul supporters seem to share is the same pair of blinders. I respond to some questions about Ron Paul because I continue to be fascinated by the group hallucination going on with them. Anyone who points out the obvious must be scared, or intimidated (lol), or must hate him. It's really sort of sad in a way because IF his supporters faced the truth then they might be able to effect a national campaign that meant something, other than waging an Internet campaign that is not translating to national polling numbers. Sorry, but it's going to take a whole lot more than his Internet supporters to make him a viable candidate for the nomination. If it makes you feel better to believe I'm intimidated for pointing out the obvious that's your own cross to bear. Just being realistic, you should try it sometime, all of you should - you all might find a way to actually change his standing if you got out there in the real trenches instead of trying to elect a man via computer. EDIT: How are Ron Paul meetups changing anything? Just curious. Do you guys just meet and talk about Paul, and discuss ways to raise more money? Do any of you do door to door work or how about organizing highly visible rallies across the country? If you are all doing these things, then that's good. More than anything, if you can answer without getting all huffy about it, how are his supporters planning to change the Republicans general attitude towards him? They don't like him, and they don't consider him to be "one of them." That is clear. What is he going to do to convince the Republican powers that be that he is indeed one of them? Because it's the only way he's going to have a chance at their nomination. EDIT: I read what he had to say, but it didn't answer my question above. I really am curious how he plans to woo the Republican base who don't consider him to be "one of them." The Republicans are very narrow when it comes to fitting their conception of who's a party man and who isn't. He isn't a party man, and he cannot get the nomination without changing their minds about him. Still curious about how he plans to do this or IF he plans to do this. But thanks for the reply, it was appreciated.
I heard about it on Freetalklive.com which is a Libertarian radio show. I'm amazed especially since this isn't coming from big businesses, corporations, etc. but individuals and smaller businesses. But I like how people keep stating that he has no chance despite the amount of support he is getting and continuously gaining. He's gaining a lot of support. Roadhazzard: You are right why should you care. But then why even answer in the first place?
That is impressive indeed, and his website is cool - I love seeing that thermometer go up every 5 seconds or so. He will not only meet his goal, but exceed it as well, just like last time when he did the Consititution week fund raiser. I don't understand why people keep bashing him.. But the more they bash Ron Paul's name, the more people like me and you will hear his name and support him. It's law of attraction .. "What you resist persists.." So, thank you to all Ron Paul haters - because of your attacks on Ron Paul, we are getting more and more Ron Paul supporters and funding.
Thanks for the info! I hope he succeeds and wins the Republican Party nomination and then win the '08 elections. Ron Paul for president.
He's up to $510,000, and still climbing. Don't believe the polls. He's got a lot of support.
Liar. Oh come now little Paulie,do you think anything YOU refernce would be legitimate? What did he do? Win another straw poll? Your straw man hasn't polled over his average of 2% except in his contrived polls.
He can raise all the money he wants. That still doesn't get him above the 2% he currently has in the polls. He will not win the nomination.
Ron Paul can put this money to use effectively, since he doesn't spend like the corporate candidates do. Those guys have to HIRE people to promote them. Ron Paul simply INSPIRES people to promote him.
