Pls someone help ...... I am a truck driver working as an independent contractor ( self employed). I want to buy a house but here in Hammocks all the loan officers say i do not qualify for a home loan even if i average 45k for the past years.Should the meals and entertainment+truck depreciation be added or deducted from the income? In other states people say that those money were added but here in Hammocks the loan officers take it out.....can anybody show me the rules how this is made....or if there is a loan officer that knows what I am talking about pls pls help
This is for ACERMILL ..... the net profit is 37k..... the depreciation of the truck which was first deducted now it shoud be added back on to the earned money cause that was not a truck expense , it was a credit given to us .....and the same with meals and entertainment. We get credit for days that we spend on the road, these are not expenses. Another weired thing is that everybody until now asked us about the adjustable gross income this is the first time we hear about the NET income. Thank u very much
Your meals and entertainment should be taken from your gross income business bottom line, but your truck depreciation shouldn't. With my property rentals it shows directly all the costs for repairs and maintenance and lowers my bottom line (net) income, but again depreciation doesn't effect your real net income negatively. Your net depreciation should be added back into your net yearly income (cash flow) for the year.
Your NET income is what is used for loan approval. You can't claim as income those costs which are necessary to run your trucking business.
