I grew up in Texas. My whole family went to college. A&M is ONLY good if you are in the corps. They are not the school everyone thinks they are. Don't go there. Half of my family went to UT, usually in Austin, but some in Dallas/Arlington. Either one of those is fine. I personally graduated from Texas Tech. I found when I applied to UT, all they wanted was my money. Texas Tech welcomed me with open arms. The housing is great, the sports are great and Lubbock is not the armpit everyone else thinks it is. Lubbock is a nice town with nice people. Yes, it is flat and yes it gets made fun of...I even laugh when it's a good one. But, Texas Tech is a school where everyone gets a chance to excel. I am a teacher, and I happen to think the TTU band is better than the others. Good Luck in your search.
Education... Texas school... Well, if your goal is to become President of the United States, you can do the LBJ route at Texas State (he was an education major there). Otherwise, A&M has the best reputation of those outside of Texas. You might as well try for the flagship campus as opposed to a satelite campus. Plus, if you make the marching band, you get the extra fun of marching in bowl games in January (let's be optomistic).
Texas A&M hands down. Also you want to think about the type of respect you'll gain by having a degree from where you graduate. Most employers will agree that a degree from Texas A&M is much more respectable as oppposed to a degree from say Texas Tech.
As an Aggie, I'm partial to A&M; however, Ahuimanu is awesome for business. Just don't go to UT- Dallas (actually in Arlington?). The smaller branches of major universities just never seem to command the same respect as the main campus.
All very good as long as u further ur education well their are the University of Texas at El Paso(UTEP) , TCU , and Texas tech
Come on hook em horns. Ahuimanu all the way
